11.2.0.3.6 (Apr 2013) Database Patch Set Update (PSU)

Oracle has released a new PSU (April 2013) for the 11GR2 Database which is described in the MOS Note 16056266.8

This Update also fixes some BUGs on Oracle Database Appliance System. The Patch is a cumulative which also includes all fixes from 11.2.0.3.5. You must use OPatch 11.2.0.3.0 or later to apply this patch. Opatch can be downloaded under the patch number 6880880.

Here is a short example how to apply this patch.

First Update your opatch version if needed. To know your current version you only must start opatch with the version parameter.[oracle@server1 psu]$ $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch/opatch version Invoking OPatch 11.2.0.1.7 OPatch Version: 11.2.0.1.7 OPatch succeeded.


In this case our opatch version is too low, so we update. The update of opatch is very simple.
Download Patch 6880880 for your OS
Extract the Patch
Replace the OPatch directory from the patch with your $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch directory[oracle@server1 psu]$ unzip p6880880_112000_Linux-x86-64.zip [oracle@server1 psu]$ mv $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch.11.2.0.1.7 [oracle@server1 psu]$ mv $PATCH_DIR/OPatch $ORACLE_HOME/. [oracle@server1 psu]$ $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch/opatch version OPatch Version: 11.2.0.3.4 OPatch succeeded.


So after the opatch version is right we can install the PSU. Please be aware that this is only a example.
